TTC makes 21,000 youths into skilled workforce in Rangpur

Rangpur Technical Training Centre (TTC) has turned over 21,000 male and female youths into skilled workforce on 32 technical and vocational courses in nine trades in last ten years.
Of them, 11,360 male and female youths have got overseas jobs as skilled workforce in 23 countries after completing technical training on various courses in nine trades at Rangpur TTC since its inception in 2008.
Principal of Rangpur TTC Engineer M Lutfar Rahman disclosed the information while presiding over a function held at conference room of the institution here on Saturday afternoon.
The function was arranged to launch four-month training course on ‘Motor Driving with Basic Maintenance’ for 40 youths and distribute certificates among outgoing 28 overseas jobseeker youths on completion of their pre-departure training course.
Deputy Commissioner M Asib Ahsan launched the training course and distributed certificates in the function as a chief guest.
Assistant Director of the District Employment and Manpower Office Mrs. Amena Pervin, Vocational Education and Job Placement Specialist of RDRS Bangladesh Rafiqul Islam and Programme Officer of Mohideb Jubo Samaj Kallyan Sangstha Elias Ali spoke on the occasion as special guests.
Engineer Lutfar Rahman said around 23,550 youths were admitted at Rangpur TTC since in inception in 2008 and over 21,000 of them so far successfully completed trainings courses in nine trades.
The trades are computer, electrical, electronics, refrigeration and air conditioning, welding and fabrication, automotive, garments, housekeeping and foreign languages.
“Some 2,000 male and female youths are now undergoing training at Rangpur TTC where language courses in Japanese, Arabic, English and Korean are also being conducted,” Rahman added.
He said many local industries, factories, offices, enterprises and organisations are directly appointing the trained youth workforce and overseas employment recruiting agencies appointing them in foreign countries on completion of courses at Rangpur TTC.
The chief guest stressed on spreading technical and vocational education and training programmes among youths to turn them into skilled workforce for increasing productivity and foreign remittance inflow.
