Tribal youth dies in road accident at Thakurgaon

A tribal youth named Binoy Mardi (30) died in a road accident in
Ranishankail upazila of Thakurgaon. The accident occurred on Saturday
(October 18) afternoon on the west side of the Bajebaksa Chhagharia
Bridge in the upazila. The deceased Binoy Mardi is the son of Samu
Mardi of the Bajebaksa Tribal Hatpara area. The concerned UP
Chairman Jiten Chandra Barman confirmed the truth of the incident.
According to local sources, Binoy Mardi left his home for Katihar Hat in
the afternoon on the day of the incident in an autovan. When the van

reached the west side of the Chhagharia Bridge on the Bajebaksa-
Katihar paved road, the van driver lost control and the van overturned,
causing Binoy to fall and get crushed under the van, seriously injuring
him and sustaining severe injuries in various parts of his body.
Later, he was rescued in an injured condition and taken to the
Ranishankail Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty
declared him dead. Ranishankail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC)
Muha. Arshedul Haque confirmed the incident on his mobile phone and
said that the police station has inspected the scene. Since there is no
complaint from the family, the body has been handed over for burial.
