A massive tree plantation campaign has been launched simultaneously in 1,068 educational institutions across all 12 upazilas of Tangail under the slogan: “Commitment of Conscious Citizens: Protecting Nature and the Planet.”
The campaign was officially inaugurated at Bindubasini Boys’ High School in Tangail town at 11:30 AM by Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, who planted three symbolic trees—a Krishnachura, a Jarul, and a Sonalu—alongside enthusiastic students.
More than 4,000 trees are being planted throughout secondary schools, madrasas, vocational, and technical institutions across the district as part of the initiative.
The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Sanjay Kumar Mohonto, school teachers, students, and members of the local and national media.
This initiative aims to raise awareness about environmental conservation and involve the younger generation in building a greener future.
