Banasree, the film actress who was discussed for acting opposite Ilias Kanchan in the movie ‘Sohrab-Rustom’, has come to an end. After the ups and downs of urban life, she returned to her native Shibchar in Madaripur. But her life was far from glamorous and affluent.
After moving around in various places, she finally found a place in a shelter project. She even begged for a few days due to poverty. A few days before her death, Banasree sought help from the country’s rich and film industry, but did not receive much response.
She had been suffering from various complex diseases for a long time and had not received good treatment.
Finally, she breathed her last at the Shibchar Upazila Health Complex at the age of 55 on September 16 afternoon. After the funeral prayer in the evening, her burial was completed at the family graveyard of her uncle’s house in Palli Kumerpar of the upazila, confirmed Banasree’s brother-in-law Abul Bashar.
Banasree is the eldest of two daughters and a son born to father Mojibur Rahman Majnu Sikder and mother Saburjan Rina from the Sikder Kandi area of Madbarerchar Union in Shibchar. She moved to the capital Dhaka with her family at the age of seven.
Banasree made her silver screen debut in 1994 with the movie ‘Sohrab Rustom’. The movie was a commercial success opposite hero Ilias Kanchan. Banasree gained recognition. After that, she acted in a dozen more movies.
Banasree also acted as a heroine opposite heroes Manna, Amin Khan, Rubel. Life became as bright as the silver screen. However, the bright days did not last long.
Her last refuge was a small house in a government-run village in the Panchchar area of Shibchar police station.
