A seven-year-old girl was killed after being hit by a BRTC bus while crossing the road at Kamalapur intersection in Dhaka’s Motijheel area on Monday morning.
The victim, Roshni Pal, was a first-grade student at Motijheel Government Model School. Originally from Patgaon village in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj district, she lived with her family in the Manda area of Mugda, Dhaka.
According to witnesses, the accident took place around 9:30am. Roshni was critically injured and was immediately rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) by her grandmother, Rekha Biswas.
Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, said doctors declared Roshni dead around 10:30am. Her body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.
