The bilateral trade figure between Bangladesh and India now stands at $ 9.4 billion and Benapole port is mainly playing the pivotal role of facilitating export and imports between the two neighbouring countries.
Vice President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Imran Ahmed said it at a discussion jointly organized by DCCI and Benapole Custom House on “Simplification of Export and Import through Benapole Land Port” held at Benapole Custom House on Tuesday.
Commissioner of Benapole Custom House Mohammad Belal Hossain was present as the Chief Guest and DCCI vice president was present as special guest. Additional Commissioner of Benapole Port Mohammad Zakir Hossain was also present.
A 11-member team from DCCI participated in this discussion which mainly dealt with existing problems of the port in terms of export and import. Benapole C and F Association and businessmen who use the port facilities were present.
