Sheikh Bashiruddin, advisor to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Textiles and Jute, and Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, visited his father-in-law’s grave in the name of an official visit. That is why the itinerary has been officially announced. All the places he visited were family. He landed at Gopinathpur High School ground in Akkelpur Upazila of Joypurhat by helicopter at 12:52 pm on Friday (September 5).
The concerned people said that Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin will come to Akkelpur in Joypurhat today, Friday. For this, the official tour schedule was given on Thursday (September 4) under the signature of the Advisor’s Private Secretary Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud. The Advisor’s Private Secretary and other officials/employees will accompany him on this official tour. The schedule says that the Advisor will leave for Shahjalal International Airport from his home in Dhanmondi, Dhaka at 9:30 am. He will leave for Gopinathpur High School in Akkelpur at 10:10 am and reach there at 11:00 am. He will stay in Akkelpur from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm. Then he will leave for Dhaka again. He will reach his home at 6:40 pm.
It was seen on the spot that the helicopter landed at 12:52 pm on the grounds of A. Gopinathpur High School in Joypurhat. After getting off the helicopter, he was greeted with flowers on behalf of the district administration, police administration, upazila administration and Gopinathpur Union Parishad. There he was given a guard of honor.
After talking to journalists, the advisor went to Matturtapur Siddiqiya Darul Hedayed Khanka Sharif, about one and a half kilometers away from there in a government vehicle bearing the flag of Joypurhat-Gha 11-0032, and offered Jumma prayers. Then, he visited the grave of the advisor’s father-in-law, the former MP from Joypurhat-2 constituency of the Awami League, the late Mohammad Abdur Razzak Akand, at Khanka Sharif premises. Then, at 1:50 PM, he had lunch at the family business Gopinathpur Himagar Limited. After staying in the cold storage until 5:00 PM, Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddar left for Dhaka by helicopter at 5:12 PM.
Later, at 1:50 pm, he stayed at the Gopinathpur Himagar Limited in Akkelpur Upazila until 5 pm, and then left for Dhaka by helicopter from Gopinathpur High School at 5:12 pm.
When reporters asked about the visit, Sheikh Bashiruddin shook his head and made no comment. However, as he boarded the helicopter, he said, “I am visiting my in-laws after 20 years.”
According to local sources, the daughter of the late Mohammad Abdur Razzak Akand, a former Awami League MP from Joypurhat-2 constituency in the third national parliamentary election in 1986, is going to be his son-in-law.The current Trade Advisor is Sheikh Bashiruddin.
