During the Eid-ul-Adha holiday, the capital’s entertainment hubs and other key locations experienced heavy crowds of visitors.
From Tuesday and into Wednesday morning, residents of the capital flocked to various entertainment centers with their families.
Despite the heat, city dwellers gathered in places like Hatirjheel, Shishu Park, the Zoo, Ramna and Suhrawardy Udyan, the Air Force Museum in Agargaon, Bangabandhu Novotheater, and Gulistan Park.
The National Zoo, one of the top tourist attractions in the capital, saw a notable influx of visitors.
From early morning, crowds came to see various animals, including tigers, lions, deer, peacocks, monkeys, snakes, various birds, and hippos. As the day progressed, the crowd continued to grow.
According to the zoo authorities, about 2 lakh people visited on Tuesday
and Wednesday.
Countless visitors came from different parts of the country, including the capital. Most arrived with their families, while some came with friends.
Hatirjheel also experienced heavy footfall during the Eid holiday. In celebration of Eid, Hatirjheel was adorned with new decorations. Charaker buses and water boats were also newly designed.
On this occasion, Hatirjheel water taxis were more popular for leisure trips than for passenger transport. A 30-minute tour of Hatirjheel costs Tk 80 per person.
Additionally, places like Fantasy Kingdom in Ashulia, Nandan Park, and the Folk and Craft Museum in Sonargaon saw families flocking to enjoy Eid festivities.
hanmondi Lake was crowded with people of all ages during Eid. Masud, a visitor, said, “I came to visit Dhanmondi Lake with my whole family.”
Other locations, such as Ramna Park, the Air Force Museum, Shah Bagh, TSC, the Sangsad Bhavan area, and Chandrima Udyan, also saw crowds of visitors in the afternoon and evening.
