Torpedo found in Rangabali canal recovered by navy

Personnel of Bangladesh Naval Force identified an object which floated on the canal at Rangabali coast in Patuakhali district as a torpedo of the warship. Then the members of BNS Sher-e-Bangla Base recovered the torpedo from the Bhangar canal of Meerkanda village of Moudubi Union of the upazila on Monday late afternoon. Currently it is being moved to BNS Sher-e-Bangla base.
Rangabali Police Station OC Helal Uddin confirmed the matter, but no one could confirm from which country it was thrown. Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, the about 27 feet long and 3 feet wide tube-shaped object was found on Ranglabali coast.
Navy and Coast Guard started operation for rescue and identification of the recovered thing in the afternoon after it surfaced. Rangabali police station OC Helal Uddin said then it is identified as torpedo and being taken to the Sher-e-Bangla naval base. It will be tested by the Bangladesh Navy.
Mentionable torpedo is a type of self-propelled weapon used by naval forces. It carries explosive warheads under or above the water and can detonate after approaching or hitting to a target.
