Tofail blames Khaleda for all losses in 3 months

Blaming BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for the loss of lives and property during the hartal and blockade programmes over the last three months, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Sunday said she will have to face trial for the losses.
“The big and small businessmen of the country have been incurring huge losses due to her nonstop blockade and hartals. Country’s innocent people are the victims of her political programmes,” he said while talking to reporters at his ministry.
“Hartal and blockade have tarnished the country’s image abroad and the volume of buyer’s orders has come down due to the political unrest,” he said.
“What have you (Khaleda) gained in the last 92 days? You’ve achieved nothing except causing losses to the country’s people,” Tofail said.
Khaleda Zia had announced that he would not come out of her Gulshan office until to ouster of the government but she surrendered before the court yesterday and returned to her Gulshan residence, the Awami Leader quipped.
