Due to the absence of a Vice Chancellor, the ongoing development work bills of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) are not being paid. It apprehends that development work worth about Tk 6 billion will be stopped.
According to the office of the chief engineer of the university, several development works are underway in KUET, including a 10-storey new academic building, a 10-storey student hall and a female hall with 1200 seats, a five-storey foreign student dormitory and visiting faculty building, a 10-storey residential building for teachers and officials, a five-storey dormitory building for teachers and officials.
onstruction of a green boundary wall, internal RCC road, construction of a substation with installation of a solar system, construction of a sub-station, land development, retaining wall, cover snub and sub-face drain. The financial value of these is about 600 crore taka.
Due to lack of Vice-Chancellor’s signature, no teacher, officer or employee has received the salary for the month of May or the Eid-ul-Azha festival allowance. Due to financial crisis, most of the teachers, officers and employees could not celebrate the joy of Eid-ul-Azha properly.
