Titas cut off illegal gas connection

Titas Gas Distribution Company Limited has disconnected illegal gas connections from 15 industries, 13 commercial establishments, two captive power plants, one CNG station, 73,030 burners of household as part of special mobile court drive led by Executive Magistrate in the month of April.
At the same time, legal gas connections of two industries, 15 commercial establishments, one captive power plants and 979 household gas burners have also been disconnected for not paying bills. Titas has besides demolished 282.81 kilometer
illegal gas pipelines in Gazipur, Savar, Mirpur, Pallabi, Rupnagar, Khilgaon, Narayangonj and Narsingdi area last month, a press release of Titas Gas said.  
In Dhaka, 20 gas connections, at Gazipur 10 connections, and at Narayangonj 11 connections were disconnected for using gas connection illegally.
Similar actions have also been taken in Narsingdi district, Dhamrai and Savar.
During the drive led by the Executive Magistrate, a number of pipelines of various diameters, ranging from 1-3 inches, were cut in different areas of Gazipur, Savar, Mirpur, Pallabi, Rupnagar, Khilgaon, Narayangonj and Narsingdi.
Executive Magistrate has also charged five companies with a fine of Tk 2,45,000 for using gas line illegally.
