The government has ramped up security across Dhaka city ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays to ensure the safety of both residents and travelers.
Nasimul Gani, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, stated that law enforcement agencies would remain on high alert during the holidays to prevent any untoward incidents. “We are fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of city dwellers during Eid. There will be no unexpected incidents,” he assured while speaking to journalists after attending meetings of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) and Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs (ACCEA) at the Cabinet Division conference room in the Secretariat.
The government has taken measures to ensure smooth travel for those heading home for the holidays. “We want those going home for Eid to have a hassle-free journey, and those who stay behind will also be safe,” Gani emphasized.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is working closely with stakeholders in the transport sector to manage the anticipated holiday rush efficiently.
Secretary Gani expressed confidence that the situation would remain under control and concluded by wishing for divine blessings to ensure a peaceful and secure Eid for all.
