Bangladesh again showed dismal batting performance against India in their warm-up match at New York in the USA on Saturday night.
The top-order batters of the Tigers totally failed to show against their stronger opponents India. Bangladesh lost their early five wickets for just 41 runs.
Opener Tanzid Hasan scored only 17 runs, while Soumya Sarkar was dismissed for naught. One-down Litton Das was bowled out by Arshdeep Singh for just six runs.
Second-down Najmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj before he opened his account.
Third-down Towhid Hridoy was dismissed for just 13 runs.
It is noteworthy that most of the top-order batters of Bangladesh tried to defend the delivery of Indian bowlers. The batters of Bangladesh showed shaky batting performance against the bowling attack of Indian bowlers.
Later, ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and experienced Mahmudullah Riyad mended the innings contributing together 71 runs for the sixth wicket partnership. Otherwise, Bangladesh had to taste a massive defeat. It may be mentioned that Bangladesh lost to India by 60 runs. If Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad could not post a notable partnership, Bangladesh would taste a bigger defeat.
Mahmudullah Riyad hit a polished 40 using 28 deliveries with four fours and a sixer before he was retired hurt.
Shakib Al Hasan made 28 from 34 deliveries featuring two fours.
Earlier, Bangladesh lost to hosts USA by 2-1 in a three-match T20I series recently.
It is mentionable that Bangladesh had a good preparation as the Tigers defeated Zimbabwe by 4-1 by five-match T20I series at home before they left Bangladesh for USA.
We hope that the Team Management of the BCB and the coaching staff of Bangladesh Cricket team will take proper steps to regain the Tigers’ mental strength. Otherwise, it will be tough task for Bangladesh team to come out from their dismal performance.
