Mominul hits unbeaten ton: Tigers score 233 against India, hosts declare 285/9

An unbeaten 107 by ace batter Mominul Haque guided Bangladesh to score 233 in the first innings against India on Day 4 play of their second Test cricket match at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday.

India declared their first innings making 285 for the loss of nine wickets on the same day.
In reply, Bangladesh were at the stumps at 26/2.

Opener Zakir Hasan (10) was trapped leg before wicket by Ravichandran Ashwin when Bangladesh’s score was 18.
One-down Hasan Mahmud (4) was bowled out by Ashwin when tourists’ total was 26 for the loss of two wickets.
Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque were on seven and naught respectively.
Aswin bagged two wickets for 14 runs.

Bangladesh were trailed by 26 runs.
Mominul Haque hit 17 fours and a sixer in his 194-ball innings.
It was Mominul Haque’s 13th Test century. Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim resumed their first innings with 40 and six runs respectively.

Bangladesh resumed their first innings with the 107 for the loss of three wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim could add more five runs on the fourth day as he was cleanly bowled out by Jasprit Bumrah when Bangladesh’s total was 112 for the loss of four wickets.

Mominul Haque and Litton Das contributed 36 runs in the five-wicket stand before Litton (13) was caught at the mid-off by Rohit Sharma off Mohammed Siraj when the Tigers’ score was 148 for the loss of five wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan (9) was caught at the mid-off by Mohammed Siraj off Ravichandran Ashwin when Bangladesh’s total was 170 for the loss of six wickets.

Mominul and Mehidy Hasan Miraz built their most notable partnership scoring together 54 runs before Miraz (20) was caught at the slip by Shubman Gill off Bumrah when Bangladesh’s score was 224 for the loss of seven wickets.

Taijul Islam (5) was bowled out by Bumrah when the tourists’ total was 230 for the loss of eight wickets.
Hasan Mahmud (1) was trapped leg before wicket by Siraj when the touring side’s score was 231 for the loss of nine wickets.

Number-11. batter Khaled Ahmed (0) was caught & bowled by Ravindra Jadeja when Bangladesh’s first innings came to an end.

Bumrah captured three wickets at the cost of 50 runs, while Siraj bagged two wickets instead of 57 runs.
India had a good start with two openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma put on together 55 runs in the opening stand before Sharma (23) was bowled out by Miraz.

Jaiswal and Shubman Gill made another notable partnership adding together 72 runs in the second wicket stand before Jaiswal was bowled out by Hasan Mahmud when the hosts’ score was 127 for the loss of two wickets.
Jaiswal hit a superb 71 using 51 deliveries including 12 fours and two sixes.

Gill (39) was caught at the long-off by Hasan Mahmud off Shakib Al Hasan when India’s total was 141 for the loss of three wickets.
Shakib dismissed Rishabh Pant for 9, bowled out Kohli for 47 runs.

Miraz dismissed Ravindra Jadeja for eight, Shakib bowled out Ravichandran Ashwin for one, Miraz dismissed Akash Deep for 12 and India’s innings was concluded. KL Rahul notched up a marvelous 68. He hit seven fours and two sixes in his 43-ball knock.

Miraz and Shakib captured four wickets each in the space of 41 and 78 runs respectively.
