Bangladesh National Cricket team are on the brink of victory as the Tigers need 143 runs to win against Pakistan National Cricket team on the final and fifth day play of the second Test cricket match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi of Pakistan. Bangladesh were at the stumps at 42 for the loss of none.
Zakir Hasan was on 31, while Shadman Islam was on nine before the bails were drawn for the fourth day (Monday).
Pakistan were bundled out for 172 in their second innings on the Day 4 play.
Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana played the key role in demolishing Pakistan’s second innings.
Hasan Mahmud captured five wickets in the space of 43 runs, while Nahid Rana claimed four wickets at the cost of 44 runs.
Pakistan resumed their second innings with the over-night score of nine for the loss of two wickets.
Opener Saim Ayub and second-down Shan Masood built a notable partnership scoring together 38 runs in the third wicket stand before Saim Ayub (20) was caught at the mid-off by Najmul Hossain Shanto off Taskin Ahmed when the hosts’ score was 47 for the loss of three wickets.
Nahid Rana struck as Shan Masood (28) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Litton Das off the right-arm pacer when Pakistan’s total was 62 for the loss of four wickets.
Nahid Rana struck again as Babar Azam (11) was caught at the first sleep by Shadman Islam off the right-arm pacer when the home side’s score was 65 for the loss of five wickets.
Nahid Rana maintained his supremacy as Saud Shakeel (2) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Litton Das off Nahid Rana when Pakistan’s total was 81 for the loss of six wickets.
Fifth-down Mohammad Rizwan and sixth-down Salman Agha resisted against the superb bowling attack of Bangladesh putting together 55 runs in the seventh wicket stand before Rizwan was caught behind by Litton Das off Hasan Mahmud when the hosts’ score was 136 for the loss of seven wickets. Rizwan made 43 from 73 balls featuring five fours.
Hasan Mahmud hit again as Mohammad Ali (0) was caught at the second slip by Najmul Hossain Shanto off right-arm pacer when Pakistan’s total was 136 for the loss of eight wickets.
Eighth-down Abrar Ahmed (2) was caught at the second slip by Shanto off Nahid Rana when the home side’s score was 145 for the loss of nine wickets.
Number.10 batter Mir Hamza (4) was caught at the slip by Mehidy Hasam Miraz off Hasan Mahmud when Pakistan’s second innings was concluded.
Salman Agha remained unbeaten with 47 runs. He hit six fours and a sixer in his 71-ball knock.
