Sports Reporter:

After achieving a hard-fought 16-run victory over Sri Lanka in the second One Day International (ODI) at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 5, the motivated Tigers will face Sri Lanka in the third and last ODI today at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka today. The series-decider match will start at 3:00pm

(Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel Nagorik TV will telecast the match live.

Earlier, Sri Lanka recorded a 77-run victory over Bangladesh in the first ODI at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 2. If Bangladesh win today’s match, the Tigers will clinch the ODI series 2-1. On the other hand, if Sri Lanka post victory in today’s game, the hosts will win the series 2-1.

If the series-decider match washes out by rain, the three-match ODI series will be ended in a 1-1 draw.

It may be mentioned that promising spinner Tanivir Islam played the key role for the win of the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Tanvir Islam captured five wickets at cost of 39 runs.

After the match, Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mehidy Hasan Miraz said, ” The victory was a result of our confidence. After scoring a fighting score, we thought that we should defend the Sri Lanka’s total. We tried to present a positive approach and told Tanvir to claim wickets. It was a tough task for us as we lost to Sri Lanka in the first ODI but we bounced back and achieved the victory.”

Tanvir Islam said, ” Miraz Bhai gave me inspiration. I followed the advice of our captain and tried my level best. Thanks to the Almighty that we earned a good result.”
