Tigers-Lanka do-or-die T20I today

Motivated Bangladesh Cricket team will take on Sri Lanka in their last Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead Bangladesh team as the captain, while Wanindu Hasaranga will lead Sri Lanka team as the skipper.

Earlier, Charith Asalanka led Sri Lanka team as Wanindu Hasaranga was banned for two T20I matches by International Cricket Council.
The do-or-die match will start at 3:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).

Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live from the venue.

Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka by just three runs in their first T20I match after giving a heroic fight at the same venue on March 4.

The Tigers got their rhythm after thrashing Sri Lanka by a massive eight-wicket victory at the same venue on March 6.

The three-match T20I series was locked 1-1.

If Bangladesh win today’s match, the Tigers will clinch the T20I series 2-1.

On the other hand, if Sri Lanka win today’s game, the Islanders’ will win the series 2-1.

It may be mentioned that Litton Das and Soumya Sarkar, the two openers made a solid start in the second T20I piling up 68 runs in the opening stand in the second T20I.

Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Chandika Hathurusingha said, ” It is not a matter of opening duo. We had made a mistake in the first T20I. So, we want come out from our mistake. If the opening duo can do their duty properly, we shall want to see the consistency. They showed a positive approach.”

Hathurusingha said, ” We are now in a position for the victory of the series. Our target is to win the match. As the most of the time of the match will be in the day time, we have to consider some matters. If we can execute our plan, we have a good chance to win the match. But I have to say that Sri Lanka are good side in T20I format. I hope my boys will give their attention in the match to win.”
