Bangladesh Cricket team will face off Ireland Cricket team in their second Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match today at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country. The match will start at 6:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Captain of Tigers Litton Das will lead his squad, while Captain of Ireland Paul Stirling will lead his side.
Earlier, the Tigers tasted a 39-run loss to the visitors’ in the first T20I at the same venue on Thursday last. Towhid Hridoy alone fought back against Ireland bowling attack. He remained 83 runs. He hit seven fours and three sixers in his 50-ball innings.
Before today’s match, the Tigers and Ireland faced each other in nine T20I matches. Of them, Bangladesh registered five victories, while Ireland posted three wins and rest of the one match ended without any result.
Towhid Hridoy said to the journalists, ” You can criticise us. From your criticism we can get positive outcome. I request you to criticise us according to the logic. If you do that we shall get smoothing good.”
He said, ” Earlier, we scored above 200 runs. But we conceded defeat. We also chased above 180 runs successfully. So, big score is not a factor. I hope we shall come out from the previous result.”
” We must try to achieve a good result. We shall play according to our plan and our duty is to execute our plan. We have to improve not only middle-order position but also top-to-bottom positions. If we can develop all the sides, we shall regain a good result.”
