Bangladesh will take on India in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) match today at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the capital city of India. The T20I game will start at 7:30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Captain of Bangladesh Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead his squad, while Captain of India Suryakumar Yadav will lead his squad. Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live. India led the three-match T20I squad 1-0.
Bangladesh lost to India by seven wickets in the first T20I at Gwalior in India on October 6.
The Tigers have to win today’s match, if they want to keep their hope alive.
The third T20I is scheduled to be held at Rajib Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad of India on September 12.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and India faced each other in 15 T20I matches. Of them, India registered 14 victories, while the Tigers won only one occasion. Bangladesh won the lone T20I matche against India in the year of 2009 in India.
Ace all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad said, ” I shall retire from T20I format after playing the third and last T20I match against India. It will be my last series.
I took this decision before reached here. I think that it will be the best time to retire from T20I cricket. I consulted with my family members. I also told my decision to my captain, coach, selectors and the President of Bangladesh Cricket Board. I think it is the appropriate time for me to attention in One Day International (ODI) matches.”
Earlier, Mahmudullah retired from Test cricket.
Mahmudullah made his T20I debut in September of 2007. He played 139 T20I matches so far. He scored 2395 runs with an average of 23.48. His highest score is 64 (not out). He hit eight half-centuries and his strike rate is 117.74.
Riyad captured 40 wickets and his best bowling figure is 3/10.
