Bangladesh Cricket squad reached in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka on Sunday to play the second Test against the Islanders.
The second Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo from June 25 to June 29. The match will start at 10:00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel Nagorik TV will telecast the match live. The second Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is part of ICC World Test Championship.
Earlier, the first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ended in a draw at Galle International Stadium in Sri Lanka on June 21. The first Test between the Tigers and the hosts was part of ICC World Test Championship.
Bangladesh Cricket squad left the venue of the first Test and reached the venue of the second Test yesterday.
All the cricketers and coaching staff of Bangladesh Cricket squad arrived in Colombo on the same day. The cricketers were in a festive mood. Some members of the family of the cricketers have been staying with the cricketers in Colombo.
Bangladesh Cricket squad took a leisure on Sunday. After that, all the members of Bangladesh Cricket squad will take part in a two-day long practice session in Colombo before they participate in the second Test. Ace all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz could not take part in the first Test as he was suffering from fever. But now Miraz is in a good shape and if everything goes well Miraz will compete in the second Test against Sri Lanka.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Najmul Hossain Shanto said, ” I changed my plan in the first Test due to sudden rain. We would declare the innings earlier but it started to rain suddenly. So, we bound to change our decision. We could not control the situation.”
Shanto also said, ” Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan bowled really well. In that condition, Nayeem bowled really outstanding. Though Nayeem did not get enough chance but he proved his capability.”
