After giving a heroic fight against West Indies in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Monday, plucky Tigers will face off Windies in the 2nd T20I at the same venue today. Bangladesh suffered a narrow 16-run defeat to Windies in the 1st T20I.
The second T20I will start at 6:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Litton Das will lead his team, while Captain of West Indies Shai Hope will lead his side.
Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
Bangladesh and West Indies took part each other in 20 T20I matches.
Bangladesh posted eight victories, while West Indies won 10 games and rest of the two match ended without any result.
If Bangladesh lose to the Caribbeans, Bangladesh will taste a bitter test as they suffer defeat remaining one match. So, today’s match is do-or-die clash for the tigers.
On the other hand, If Bangladesh win in Wednesday’s match, Bangladesh will level the series 1-1 and the result of the three-match T20I series will decide in the last T20I match, which will take place at the same venue on October 31.
Though Bangladesh started their T20I campaign with an unhappy note but Tanzim Hasan believes they will win the rest of the T20I matches and clinch the T20I series.
He has got confidence from Bangladesh’s four consecutive victories in the four T20I series, which concluded recently.
After the first T20I match, Tanzim Hasan said, ” We were prepared from the very beginning.
We lost today as it was a bad day for us. We shall comeback in the next two matches. We have no chance to go back foot.
If we lose any match, we shall taste defeat in the three-match T20I series. We shall try to win at the home ground.
We won abroad. So, we have an advantage to win the series. We shall try our level best to win.”
He said, ” The top order batter could play after taking responsibility. Tanzid Hasan started well.
But our middle order faced collapse. I am anxious about our middle order. We faced batting collapse but the batters could explain it. I could not give the explanation.”
” I batted in the middle of our batting. If any other middle order batter could bat properly, we could chase our opponents total,” he added.
