Tigers all out for 164 in 1st innings of 2nd Test against WI

The Tigers were all out for 164 in the 1st innings against West Indies (WI) on the Day 2 play of the second Test cricket match at the Sabina Park in Jamaica of West Indies on Sunday. West Indies were at the stumps at 70/1.

The Caribbeans trailed by 94 runs. Bangladesh resumed their first innings with the over-night score 69 for the loss of two wickets.

Shadman Islam and Shahadat Hossain resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 50 and 12 runs respectively. Shahadat Hossain could add more 10 runs on the second day as he (22) was bowled out by Shamar Joseph when the tourists’ total was 83 for the loss of three wickets.
Litton Das (1) was caught at the first slip by Kavem Hodge off Jayden Seales when Bangladesh’s score was 88 for the loss of four wickets.

Jaker Ali (1) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva off Shamar Joseph when the touring side’s total 95 for the loss of five wickets.

Shadman Islam could add more 14 runs on the second day play as he (64) was caught behind by Joshua Da Silva off Shamar Joseph when the Bangladesh’s score was 98 for the loss of six wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam built a notable partnership scoring together 41 runs in the seven-wicket stand before Taijul Islam (16) was caught at the third slip by Justin Greaves off Alzarri Joseph when the Tigers’ total was 139 for the loss of seven wickets.

Taskin Ahmed (8) was caught at the second slip by Alick Athanaze off Seales when the tourists’ score was 159 for the loss of eight wickets. Miraz was caught at the deep fine leg by Shamar Joseph off Seales when Bangladesh’s total was 160 for the loss of nine wickets.
Miraz made 36 from 75 deliveries featuring two fours.

Nahid Rana (0) was bowled out by Seales when the Tigers’ innings came to an end.
Seales captured four wickets in the space of five runs, while Shamar Joseph claimed three wickets at the cost of 49 runs. Later, opener Mikyle Lois (12) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Litton Das off Nahid Rana when the hosts’ total was 25. Rana took one wicket for 28 runs.

Opener Kraigg Brathwaitte was on 33, while Keacy Carty was on 19 before the bails were drawn for the second day.
