Thursday HSC exams also deferred

Staff Reporter :

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for 24 July have been postponed in the wake of the recent Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area, which has claimed at least 31 lives.

Education Adviser Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar announced the decision during a visit to the Milestone campus on Monday morning (22 July). He stated that a new date for the postponed exams will be announced after the remaining examinations are completed.

According to the original schedule, the Economics First Paper and Engineering Drawing and Workshop Practice First Paper exams were due to take place on 24 July.

The authorities had previously postponed HSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for today, citing the devastating impact of the crash, which caused significant damage to a building of the school.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate confirmed that the death toll from the incident has now risen to 31, with several others injured. The government has pledged to support the affected families and ensure proper treatment for the injured.
