Three men injured by gunfire during violent clashes centering on the National Citizen Party’s (NCP) rally in Gopalganj have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.

The injured are Sumon Biswas, 25, Ramzan Munshi, 28, and Abbas Ali Sarkar, 30.

“All three have been admitted and are currently receiving treatment,” said Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the DMCH Police Outpost.

Sumon’s mother, Nipa Biswas, said her son, who works for a beverage distribution company, was shot while transporting goods in the Shishu Bon area of Gopalganj Sadar on Wednesday. He sustained gunshot wounds above his right hip and to the fingers of his right hand.

Ramzan Munshi, an autorickshaw driver, was shot while on duty in the Launch Ghat area. His brother, Imran Munshi, said he was struck by bullets above the right wrist and under his right arm.

Another autorickshaw driver, Abbas Ali Sarkar, was also injured in the same area. His wife, Rahima Begum, said Abbas was shot above his left knee while driving. He was brought to DMCH around 2:00am.
