Three college students lost their lives in a tragic road accident when a speeding bus struck them in front of the Abalpur petrol pump on the Magura-Jhenaidah highway.
The incident took place around 5 PM on Saturday (June 1) near the Haor area, confirmed Ayub Ali, officer-in-charge of Magura Police Station.
The victims have been identified as Robin (23), son of Lal Mia from Hajipur village; Joy (24), son of Pratas from Borichara village; and Sajim (23), son of Bakul Mia from Kashiadanga village. All three were Class XI students at Magura Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy College and belonged to the same union.
According to police, the students died on the spot. Their bodies have been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case has been filed with Magura Police Station in connection with the accident.
