Police arrested two leaders of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and a member of the Bangabandhu Sainik League in Dhaka’s Khilgaon. Arrestees are Arifur Rahman Akash, general secretary of Word No. 9, and Tahmidul Hasan, general secretary of Word No. 8 under the Motijheel Thana unit of the BCL, along with Md Anwar Hossain Babu, a member of the Khilgaon Thana unit Bangabandhu Sainik League, a pro-organisation of the outlawed Awami League.
Akash and Tahmidul were detained in front of the Mukta Biriyani shop in the afternoon, and Babu was detained in front of Taltala Market at night on Friday, September 19, according to Khilgaon police station OC Md Daud Hossain, who spoke on Saturday, September 20.
