Forth five teachers of Chittagong University have compared the threat of ‘sending the Prime Minister to the cemetery’ in Rajshahi with medieval barbarism and terrorism. On Tuesday, 45 professors of CU Yellow panel made a statement strongly condemned the threat to the Prime Minister.
The statement signed
by Abdullah Mamun, Professor of Management Department said that the threat of killing a leader or political leader publicly in independent and democratic Bangladesh acquired in exchange
of 3 millions of lives was
a terrorist act, which is socially unacceptable, politically dangerous and legally punishable offense.
The threat of killing PM in a public rally is a threat of killing democracy, the threat of stopping the economic progress of Bangladesh, the threat of creating terrorism by stopping the education, culture and social liberation movement of Bangladesh.
The statement said, “The threat of ‘sending a living person to the cemetery’ reminds us of our medieval barbarism. Bangladesh is not Afghanistan! This attempt to bring back medieval barbarism in modern science-based civilized society in a Talibani formula was in no way inspired by the consciousness of the War of Liberation and the conscious society of Bangladesh who believe in democracy.”
