There have been reports of the robbery by thieves in the guise of huzur in different government offices of Bhangura Upazila Parishad in Pabna .
On Wednesday (July 19), the theft happened in the room of the Upazila Agriculture Officer and Academic Supervisor of the Upazila Secondary Education Office. In the CCTV footage of the agriculture office, a person wearing Punjabi-pajama, wearing a cap and beard entered the chamber of the officials of the two offices around noon. Then he is also seen talking continuously on the phone. Sensing the officer’s preoccupation, he entered the chamber and took money from the officer’s drawer and bag.
Academic supervisor Rita Rani said, she was working on the computer at the time of the incident. That’s when the money was stolen from his bag. Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmin Jahan said that the theft happened in his chamber when he went to the next room in a meeting with the Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan admitted the fact of the theft in the government office and said that the VDO footage has been given to the police.
