The Awami Muslim League was founded on June 23, 1949 at the Rose Garden mansion in Dhaka. The Weekly Ittefaq started on August 15, 1949. After arriving from Calcutta, Manik Mia turned the paper as the party’s mouthpiece.
One of the most significant aspects of Manik Mia’s life was his close proximity to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the visionary leader who would later become the founding father of Bangladesh.
Their friendship was not just personal but also deeply rooted in a shared vision for an independent and just Bangladesh.
