Entertainment Report :

Small screen’s popular actress Azmeri Haque Badhon has always made headlines for her open and bold discussions.

In a recent long post on social media, she wrote about the men in her life. The actress made it clear that her objection is not to men, but to the patriarchal mentality prevalent in society.

Captioned “Men in my life”, Badhon wrote in that status, “There is often a big misunderstanding about me-many people think that I don’t like men. This is not true.

What I don’t like is our patriarchal society, and both men and women who maintain that society.” She also said that while she doesn’t hate men, she never accepts patriarchy.

In that status, the actress also mentioned the influence of some important men in her life. First among them is her father, who has shaped her in many ways.

She also specifically mentioned the name of Abdullah Mohammad Saad, the director of the film ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’. According to Badhon, these two men have had a profound impact on her personality and artistic life.

Badhon also mentioned his two brothers in the status.
She wrote that her two brothers are the hope of his life, although they have different thoughts. Especially, she sees her younger brother Rasha not only as a brother, but also as a best friend.

She can talk to him with childlike simplicity.
Regarding another brother, Badhon said that even when her parents could not, that brother stood by her side, which she will never forget.

The actress also mentioned the two brothers’ decision on inheritance separately. She wrote, “They both shared it with me in equal parts, without strictly following the rules of Sharia.

I don’t really like the way they gave it to me-as if it was theirs, not mine. But that’s the reality of our system. And they handled it with fairness and love. I hope that one day our law will ensure-that everyone inherits equally.”

However, Badhon’s experience of being bound was not always positive. She has also encountered men in her life who were disrespectful, violent and inhumane. But she has also expressed gratitude to them.

In the actress’s words, “As much as they tried to break me, their cruelty burned me like fire-like a volcanic eruption against injustice.”

At the end of the status, Badhon clarified her position again. She wrote, “So don’t get me wrong-I don’t dislike men. I dislike patriarchy. And yes, I love men.”
