Entertainment Report :

Popular singer Baby Naznin’s professional activities were almost stopped during the previous government due to political involvement. Later, she settled in the United States.
Finally, after eight long years, Baby Naznin returned to the country on November 10.
Returning to the country, she said, “Artistes are always above party opinion, they can never be kept under any restrictions.”
Baby’s fans and well-wishers welcomed her at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport last Sunday morning.
A group of BNP workers also welcomed her with slogans. However, the artiste did not accept the bouquet from any of them. She said, “Not flowers, only wishes are enough.”
Baby Naznin paid tribute to all the martyrs and injured in the movement of July and August at the beginning.
Reacting to returning home after a long time, Baby Naznin said, “I got off the plane and took a deep breath. That breath is very loving, deep love. I haven’t received it in a long time. What is the pain of not getting this, I understand more after getting it today.”
Many artistes including Baby Naznin were blacklisted due to political reasons during the previous government.
Baby Naznin said in this regard, “It’s sad for the artistes. It is called black night, black day or black history. Artistes are the crown of the country. They are always respectful. Through the medium of culture, artistes show Bangladesh all over the world. Artistes are always above opinion. I don’t want them to be shunned as supporters of a particular party.”
When asked whether more blacklists will be made in the future, Baby Naznin said, “Artistes do not have any boundaries. Artistes can never be kept under any restrictions. I’m always against this word. Music is a neat thing. When artistes carry it, negative aspects must be discarded. Blacklisting is just as bad. Why I cherish this word. Bangladesh has got new independence; the word blacklist should not come here again. I’m an artiste; I’ll sing my heart out. Why will I face obstacles, why will there be politics about me? Artistes are going out of the country because of this filth.”
Although she was out of the country, Baby Naznin is still active in politics. Last June, Baby Naznin was nominated as an Adviser to the Chairperson of BNP. She said at the airport that she is still involved in politics. She will work according to the party instructions in the future. But she also has plans for music.
Baby Naznin told this correspondent, “I have many new songs ready and will record them soon. I have just arrived, so need some time. But I will do the concerts now. I will see my fans from the front. I will sing in front of them as I wish.”
