Chattogram Bureau:
Two journalists were attacked while covering a clash between two terrorist groups led by Yasin and Rokon-Gafur in the JangalSalimpur area of Sitakunda, resulting in the death of one person.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Loharpool area of JangalSalimpur. Hossain Ziyad, Chattogram Bureau Chief and special correspondent of Ekhon Television, and cameraperson Md. Parvez sustained serious injuries in the attack.
The injured cameraperson Md. Parvez told The New Nation that when they went to cover the news in Loharpool, around 50-60 people suddenly attacked them.
“They struck us with weapons and pieces of wood, snatched our mobile phones and wallets, and destroyed our cameras. Later, the attackers attempted to forcibly take us away in a CNG auto-rickshaw, but we somehow managed to escape,” he said.
