Terrorist attack on 71 TV photo journalist

A group of terrorists has launched an armed attack on Md. Ujjal Hossain (42), a photojournalist of a private television station, for stopping him from consuming drugs in Savar, Dhaka.
The attack took place in front of a mosque in the North Chapain area of Savar around 11:30 am on Saturday.
Locals rescued him in a seriously injured condition and admitted him to the Savar Upazila Health Complex.
The injured journalist Md. Ujjal Hossain is a resident of Laltek village in the North Chapain area of Savar. He is working as a photojournalist for 71 Television.
Those involved in the attack include Wahab Haji (60), his son Saddam (35), Atanu (25), Hridoy (20), deceased Mustafa’s son Emon (25), Rabi’s son Minhaj (22), Zahid’s son Antar (21), Arot Ali’s son Simon (20), Sabbir (22), Johnny (20) and Musa (20).
According to the complaint, the accused had been involved in drug use, extortion and other criminal activities in the area for a long time. Journalist Ujjal Hossain had been protesting against these activities. On Friday, he protested again, which angered the accused. Due to this, when he left his house on Saturday morning to gather news, the terrorists who had been waiting for him attacked him with country-made weapons.
Injured journalist Ujjal Hossain said, “The accused have been involved in various crimes since the time of the Awami League government.” Even after the change of government, there has been no stoppage in their misdeeds. I only protested against their crimes, that is why they severely hurt me. I want a fair trial in this incident.’
Juel Mia, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station, said regarding the incident, ‘We immediately sent police to the spot after receiving the news. Journalist Ujjwal’s condition is currently stable. An investigation is underway based on the complaint, and necessary action will be taken against the accused.’
