A hotel employee named Rumon Ahmed was stabbed to death by a customer due to delay in serving tea in Sylhet.
This incident took place on Sunday (July 13) morning at a Chapri tea shop next to the Kazir Bazar Kazir Fish Market in the city. He was killed over an argument over tea, the police also said.
The deceased hotel employee Rumon (26), son of the deceased Taklish Ali of Jalalpur Bazar area of Dakshin Surma, was an employee at a Niru Babu tea shop located next to the fish market in Kazirbazar.
Locals said that this morning, an unknown customer entered Niru Babu’s tea shop located next to Kazir Fish Market and asked for tea. At that time, the employee got into an argument with Rumon due to the delay in serving tea, and the owner of the tea shop and the people around calmed them down and the situation normalized. After a while, the young man entered the hotel with a few others and attacked the employee. At one stage, they stabbed Rumon and fled. Later, he was rescued and taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ziaul Haque confirmed this information and said, the body of the deceased has been sent to the Osmani Hospital morgue for autopsy. We are conducting a drive to arrest the accused.
