Actress Tasnia Farin’s debut feature film titled ‘Fatima’ has been premiered on April 17 on OTT platform Bongo, confirmed director Dhrubo Hasan.
The emotional and thought-provoking film was previously released in theatres on May 24 last year.
Prior to its theatrical release, ‘Fatima’ had its premiere at the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival in Iran, where Farin received the Best Actress
award for her performance.
The film garnered critical acclaim from both audiences and critics. Built around a woman’s past and present, dreams and reality, ‘Fatima’ tells a poignant and deeply personal story.
Initially titled ‘Dahokal’, the film began shooting under that name before being renamed.
Alongside Tasnia Farin, the film stars Yash Rohan, Tariq Anam Khan, Pantha Kanai, and Manas Bandyopadhyay, among others.
The production of ‘Fatima’ spanned eight years, with the film finally releasing in 2024.
Reflecting on the journey, Tasnia Farin said, “When the director called nearly eight years later and said he was going to complete the film, I was
surprised.
But finishing ‘Fatima’, seeing it release, and receiving the Best Actress award has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Now that it’s releasing on OTT, that’s also a piece
of good news for me.”
