Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed of Bangladesh has taken the top position after crossing, New Zealand pacer Matt Henry, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, South African pacer Kagiso Rabada and Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj. Taskin Ahmed had been fighting against injury for a long time. Taskin Ahmed took part in the first ODI against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 2. But the speedster could not take part in the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the same venue on July 5. He bowled a devastating spell in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. Taskin returned to the third ODI against Sri Lanka in the last and final ODI on July 8.
A tremendous statistics has come out recently. Since January 1 of 2023 and before July 8, 2025, Taskin Ahmed has taken the top position, who bowled 150 overs. The Bangladeshi speedster has earned the best economy rate among all pacers, who bowled 150 overs.
Taskin Ahmed bowled 27 innings to bag 46 wickets with the best economiy of 4.87. Pacer Matt Henry of New Zealand captured 49 wickets after bowling 26 innings but his economy rate is 5.15. He has taken the second spot.
Kagiso Rabada of South Africa has taken the third spot. He captured 33 wickets after bowling 19 innings but his economy rate is 5.32. Josh Hazlewood of Australia has taken fourth position. He claimed 30 wickets after bowling 22 innings. But his economy rate is 5.38. Pacer Mohammed Siraj of India has taken the fifth position. He captured 47 wickets after bowling 27 innings. But his economy rate is 5.41.
It may be mentioned that Taskin Ahmed grabbed two wickets in the space of 51 runs against Sri Lanka in the third ODI at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka on Tuesday. He bowled 10 overs with an economy rate of 5.10.
