The task force has continued its operation against illegal stone crusher machines in Sylhet on Tuesday (June 17).
the task force disconnected and seized the electric meters of illegal stone crusher machines in the Dhopagole area of Sadar Upazila. During this, the electric meters of 33 crusher machines were disconnected and seized. Earlier on Monday, the task force disconnected the electricity connections of 25 illegal stone crusher machines in the same area and 5 in the Jaintapur area and seized the meters.
The 3-hour operation was conducted in the afternoon under the leadership of Sylhet Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Khoshnur Rubaiyat.
Officials of the police, army, RAB and electricity department were present in the operation.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Khoshnur Rubaiyat said that stones looted from the Sadapathar area in Dhopagole are being broken. Most of the crusher machines are expired, and they were operating illegally.
Legal action is being taken against the concerned traders.
However, traders said that they are facing huge losses due to such a campaign without giving any notice.
Earlier, on Saturday (June 14), the Environment and Energy Advisor visited the Jaflong tourist area. During this, Energy Advisor Fawzul Karim Khan gave strict instructions to disconnect the power supply of the illegal crusher machine.
