Pro-government teachers’ faction of Jahangirnagar University (JU) under the banner of ‘Bangabandhur Adorsha O Muktijoddher Chetonay Bishwashee Progotisheel Shikkhak Samaj’ on Saturday protested the remarks of BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman on father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In a press release, the organization protested the remark of Tarique.
In the statement the teachers said, ‘Tarique Zia is trying to distort the history by misleading comments on Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina’. Mentionable, BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, at a meeting at the Westminster Hall in London on Tuesday night, claimed that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became prime minister “illegally” in 1972.
