BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman expressed deep shock and sorrow on Monday over the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft that struck a building at Milestone School and College in Uttara, resulting in the deaths of 20 people.
In a Facebook post, Tarique said, “We are heartbroken by the devastating aircraft crash at Milestone College. No student should ever face such horror in an institution dedicated to their learning, growth, and well-being.
My heartfelt prayers are with the traumatised young souls, and I urge BNP leaders, activists, and professionals to support those affected. Together, as a united nation, we must address this tragedy.”
In a separate condolence message, he stated, “I am profoundly shocked and saddened by the tragic crash of the Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft in Uttara, Dhaka, which caused fatalities and injuries among students of Milestone School.
The entire nation mourns this heartrending loss. Words fail to express the depth of my sorrow over this distressing incident.”
He prayed for the departed souls and extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families, adding, “May Allah grant the grieving families the strength to bear the pain of losing their children or seeing them severely injured.”
Tarique Rahman also called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the cause of the crash.
