BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Tuesday urged the nation to uphold the principles of equality, dignity, and justice as Bangladesh prepares for a transformative journey in the New Year, 2025.
“As we enter a pivotal phase in Bangladesh’s history with the arrival of the New Year, let us continue our pursuit of equality, dignity, and justice,” he shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
Tarique Rahman emphasised their vision of building a nation where every citizen matters and every voice is valued.
“Together, we aim to restore democracy, strengthen public institutions, rejuvenate the economy, and empower the people both politically and economically,” he stated.
On the same day, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir reiterated the importance of continuing the fight to establish a truly democratic system in 2025.
“The path ahead may be even more challenging, but we must remain resolute in our struggle to achieve a genuine democratic order,” he remarked in a New Year message.
Extending warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Bangladesh and the global community, Fakhrul called for greater collective efforts to foster and strengthen democracy.
“We must be more proactive in promoting and advancing democracy within both the state and society. Fulfilling the aspirations of the people should be our shared commitment in this New Year,” he added.
Reflecting on the challenges of the past year, Fakhrul noted, “While the outgoing year has brought various hardships, we must move forward with determination, drawing lessons from both our successes and failures. Our ultimate aim remains the creation of a modern, democratic Bangladesh.”
He concluded by wishing that the New Year would be filled with accomplishments, prosperity, innovation, and collective well-being.
