Tarique Rahman prayed for the victims, saying, “I pray for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives in the earthquake and convey my deepest condolences to their grieving families. I also wish a quick recovery for all those who have been injured.”
He added, “If the government had taken stronger preparedness measures beforehand, the scale of destruction could have been reduced and people could have been better protected.
The people of Bangladesh have always endured and risen above natural calamities and adversities.”
Expressing confidence in the nation’s resilience, he said that the people of Bangladesh will overcome the devastation caused by the earthquake.
He also announced that the BNP will stand steadfastly beside the affected communities.
