An urgent meeting of the BNP National Standing Committee will take place at the party chairperson’s political office in Gulshan at 8:30pm on Monday.
Confirming the matter, BNP’s Media Cell Member Shairul Kabir Khan said, “The meeting will be chaired by Tarique Rahman on virtual platform.”
According to party sources, the meeting has been called in view of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s medical trip abroad.
The party’s policy strategy and new decisions may be discussed in it. BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia is supposed to fly for London in an air ambulance Tuesday night.
In this regard, leaders and activists have been advised to reduce the crowd.
However, it is not yet confirmed whether the senior leaders will go to the airport to bid farewell.
On Sunday night, after a meeting of the standing committee members with BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Begum Khaleda Zia will go to London on January 7 for better treatment.
