Tarique calls for collective efforts to rebuild nation

Staff Reporter:

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Monday called upon party leaders and activists to work together to rebuild the nation anew.

Addressing a large gathering in front of the BNP central office at Nayapaltan, he said, “Wherever we may be, we must all contribute to rebuilding this country together.”

Emphasising the importance of small but meaningful actions, Tarique Rahman added, “Let us give our best efforts. Even if we notice a piece of paper or waste on the street, we should remove it. Through such collective initiatives, we can build a better nation.”

He also sought prayers for his mother, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, saying, “I ask all of you to remain well and to pray for me and for Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia.”

Tarique Rahman visited the BNP central office at Nayapaltan for the first time in 19 years. He arrived at around 4:00 pm and made his way through a huge gathering of party activists to enter the office. From the second-floor balcony, he greeted supporters by waving and saluting before addressing them for the first time since his return to the country.

Upon his arrival, he was formally welcomed with flowers by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Treasurer M Rashiduzzaman Millat. Adviser to the BNP Chairperson Abdus Salam, Joint Secretary General Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, central leaders of BNP’s affiliated bodies, as well as officers and staff of the party’s central office, were present on the occasion.

The BNP central office was festively decorated to mark the event. Thousands of party activists had gathered in the Nayapaltan area since morning, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The Chairperson’s Security Force (CSF) maintained a security perimeter around the office, while law enforcement agencies enforced strict security measures throughout the Nayapaltan area. A RAB dog squad was also deployed to conduct security sweeps of the premises and its surroundings.

After spending years in exile, Tarique Rahman returned to the country and resumed his official duties on December 28 at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan. His visit to the central office today focused on organisational engagements and party activities.
