Australia’s legendary cricketer Mathew Hayden lauded Bangladesh youngsters Tanzim Hossain and Rishad Hossain for their surreal performance in the T20 World Cup.
In a conversation with Cricfrenzy, the ex-Australian opening batter Mathew Hayden expressed his belief in Tanzim’s potential, stating that he is the future star.
The duo Rishad and Tanzim showcased their talent by taking 14 and 11 wickets despite Bangladesh’s poor run in the tournament and sorrowful exit from the Super-8.
“I think Tanzim, I think, is a very good, fast bowling prospect. I’ve enjoyed the way that he’s gone about his business. Not that tall, but good whipping action, good into the wicked action. Fast outswing is, I think he’ll be a big one for the future, so enjoy watching him back now play,” said Mathew.
Rishad has achieved the feat of securing the highest number of wickets in a T20 World Cup among Bangladeshi bowlers, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan. Australia’s legendary batter was impressed with the performance of the leg-spinner and stated that he has the potential to become all-format cricketer.
“Yeah, (Rishad) also exciting prospect. And I think he’ll get better over time, especially in this format where you need to come up with variations. I’m sure he has got them, but if you get a better prospect of a coaching, then what you’ve got in that lineup as well? So hopefully takes some good advice over the next coming months. And I’m sure we’ll see a lot of him in all formats of the game,” he added.
