Legends of Rupganj made quick work of Partex Sporting Club, bundling them out for just 129 runs in 34.4 overs and chasing down the target in only 18.3 overs.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim was the star of the show, blasting a stunning century to seal a commanding 10-wicket win in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) clash on Monday at BKSP Ground No-3 in Savar.
Partex Sporting Club struggled against the sharp bowling of Sheikh Mehedi Hasan, who wreaked havoc with figures of 4 for 34 from 10 overs. Rubel Mia, coming in at No. 3, offered some resistance with a 41-run knock, while Shahidul Islam contributed 19 runs lower down the order.
In response, Tamim launched a furious assault from the outset. He remained unbeaten on 103 off just 59 balls, laced with 10 fours and seven sixes. Legends of Rupganj Captain and fellow opener Saif Hassan supported him with an unbeaten 26 from 53 deliveries.
Tanzid came close to breaking the DPL record for the fastest century, held by Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor, who reached three figures in just 46 balls for Prime Bank against Kalabagan during the 2013-14 season. Although Tanzid’s innings hinted at a record-breaking effort, he ultimately fell short.
