Tanzid powers Dhaka to win over Chittagong in BPL Cricket

Opener Tanzid Hasan powered Dhaka Capitals to earn a massive eight-wicket victory over Chittagong Kings in their match of the Dutch-Bangla Bank Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday.

Chasing Chttagong’s total of 148 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs, Dhaka Capitals romped home making 149 for the loss of two wickets when they had 11 balls to spare.

Tanzid Hasan remained unbeaten with 90 runs. He hit seven sixes and three fours in his 54-ball innings. Tanzid was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning innings.Tanzid struck 29 sixers in BPL so far. Chris Gayle hit highest 47 sixes in a season of BPL Cricket.

Dhaka had a formidable start as opener Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das notched up together 75 runs in the opening stand before Litton Das was caught by Khaled Ahmed off Husain Talat.

Litton made 25 from 28 balls with three fours.
After Litton’s dismissal, Tanzid Hasan and Munim Shahriar put on together 36 runs in the second wicket stand before Munim (12) was bowled out by Aliss Islam when Dhaka’s total was 111 for the loss of two wickets.

Tanzid Hasan and Sabbir Rahman helped their side to reach the winning target scoring together 31 runs for the unbroken third wicket partnership.

Sabbir Rahman remained unbeaten with 14 runs. Aliss Islam and Hussain Talat took one wicket apiece. Chittagong Kings had a solid start with two openers Naeem Islam and Zubaid Akbari put on together 40 runs before Zubaid Akbari was bowled out by Mosaddek Hossain.

Akbai made 23 from 19 balls featuring three fours and a sixer.
Naeem Islam and Graham Clark added 49 runs in the second wicket stand before Graham Clark (19) was caught by Riaz Hassan off Nazmul Islam when Chittagong’s total was 89 for the loss of two wickets.

Hussain Talat (2) was stumped out by Litton Das off Nazmul Islam when Chittagong’s score was 91 for the loss of three wickets.

Naeem Islam was caught by Munaim Shahriar off Mosaddek Hossain when Chttagong’s total was 96 for the loss of four wickets.

Naeem Islam hit a polished 44. His 40-ball innings was studded with five fours and two sixes.
After Naeem’s dismissal, Chittagong’s batters failed to build any notable partnership.

Mosaddek Hossain and Nazmul Islam bagged two wickets each instead of 13 and 27 runs respectively.
Mahedi Hasan and Ronsford Beaton took one wicket each giving 31 and 35 runs respectively.
