Tangail LGED Tops Nation Again in Roller Rental Revenue

Tangail LGED has once again emerged as the top revenue earner in the country from road roller rentals in the 2024-25 fiscal year, maintaining its number-one position for the fifth consecutive year.

According to official data, Tangail LGED earned BDT 2.91 crore in roller rental revenue against BDT 278.67 crore spent on road development. The department also set new records in laboratory testing fees this year.

Month-wise figures show consistent revenue generation, with January, March, and May showing the highest returns. In March alone, BDT 43 lakh was earned against BDT 28.41 crore in development work.

Contractors have praised Tangail LGED for its prompt service, crediting the foreman’s swift dispatch of nearby rollers to sites, reducing downtime and extra costs.

Sub-Assistant Engineer Md. Biplob Hossain confirmed the office’s continued leadership in roller rentals, while Executive Engineer Mohammad Kamruzzaman attributed the success to proper supervision, team effort, and a policy of completing daily work on time.

Tangail LGED has held the top spot in this sector since FY 2020-21.
