Bangladesh played two Test matches of the ICC World Test Championship against Sri Lanka recently. The first Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ended in a draw at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka on April 25. By virtue of the drawn Test, Bangladesh collected 20 points. Later, Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka by 209 runs in the second Test match at the same venue on May 3.

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal showed a consistent performance in the two-Test match series. He scored 90 runs in the first innings of the first Test, remained unbeaten with 74 in the second innings. He hit 92 in the first innings of the second Test and scored 24 runs in the second innings. He altogether scored 280 runs with an average of 93.33.
Mominul Haque made 127 in the first innings of the first Test and remained unbeaten with 23 in the second innings. He notched up 49 in the first innings of the second Test and scored 32 in the second innings. He altogether scored 231 runs with an average of 77.
Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten with 68 in the first innings of the first Test. He scored 40 in the first innings of the second Test and hit 40 in the second innings. He altogether scored altogether 148 runs with an average of 74.
Najmul Hossain Shanto notched up a superb 163 in the first innings of the first Test but was out for naught in the second innings. He was out for a zero in the first innings of the second Test and scored 26 in the second innings. He altogether scored 189 runs with an average of 63.
Liton Das hit 50 in the first innings of the first Test. He scored 8 in the first innings of the second Test and hit 17 in the second innings. He scored altogether 75 runs with an average of 25.
Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed regained his rhythm. He captured three wickets at the cost of 112 runs in the first innings of the first Test. He claimed four wickets in the space of 127 runs in the first innings of the second Test and took one wicket for 26 runs in the second innings.
Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam bagged two wickets giving 163 runs in the first innings of the first Test. He took one wicket conceding 83 runs in the first innings of the second Test and plucked five wickets at the cost of 72 runs.
Right-arm spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz got one wicket conceding 161 runs in the first innings of the first Test. He took one wicket for 118 runs in the first innings of the second Test and bagged two wickets at the cost of 66 runs.
