Committee meets Saturday to announce Eid-ul-Fitr date
The National Moon Sighting Committee has set to announce the date of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival in Bangladesh.
The committee will meet at the office of Islamic Foundation in Baitul Mukarram on Saturday evening as Ramadan winds down amid a nationwide lockdown over the coronavirus outbreak.
Officials said that the meeting will be presided over by State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah.
The country will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr amid the ongoing shutdown aiming to contain coronavirus on Sunday if the Shawwal moon in sighted on Saturday,
If the moon is not seen, the Eid will be observed a day later on Monday, the officials said.
Officials said that on Saturday as Ramadan winds down amid a nationwide lockdown over the coronavirus outbreak.
